One of the biggest reasons why many people avoid going to the dentist is fear of the unknown. Although that is to be expected, it shouldn’t stop you from getting the dental care you need to enjoy a happy and healthy life. Your time is very dear to us and we understand you want to be treated by dental professionals you know, love, respect and are familiar with. When it comes to your oral health, no matter what procedure you are here for, we promise to provide all of your dental care in one facility, from start to finish.
Repairing and improving smiles is our business and we can’t do that if you aren’t comfortable or knowledgeable about our doctors or staff. Dr. Mark Whitfield and Dr. Ashley Clayton advises all Nashville area residents who are interested in learning more about dental implants to schedule a consultation. This assessment offers you the perfect opportunity to tour our facilities, get to know our staff and learn more about how you can benefit from single or full mouth dental implants.
What You Should Know About the Dental Implant Procedure
The implant procedure is not something that can be completed in a single office visit. The procedure takes several months to complete. During this time, your implant will be placed in stages. First, the root will be surgically implanted into your jaw bone and allowed to heal over the course of several weeks. Once, several weeks have passed, the next step of the process is to attach the dental prosthetic or “tooth” to the root implant. The tooth will be made to match the appearance and structure of your other teeth.
Once your implants are completely installed, no one will be able to tell you have them. With proper care and good oral hygiene, your implants will last and perform like your natural teeth for many years to come.
